Sanitary advices and vaccines
It is not necessary any vaccine.Health authority recommends the vaccine against the malaria for the persons that go to the Amazon. Do not forget to bring an intestinal disinfectant and your sun block.
Food
The Peruvian food is very delicious and varied between the typical plates we can name (Cuye Asado, La Pachamanca, Cebiche, bisteck de alpaca, pure de Quinua, Rocoto relleno, etc) and the traditional mate of coca. Like traveling to any other country, changes in diet can cause lower intestinal distress, we suggest you not eat cold and street food or raw vegetables, especially if you are vegetarian It is recommended that you eat cooked foods.
Changing Money
The national currency in Peru is Nuevos Soles ,its change with the American dollar is approximately equivalent to 3.5 Soles. 1 Euro is approximately equivalent to 4 soles. The travellers' cheques are accepted, the credit cards are accepted only in important business.Change dollars or other kinds of money, including travellers cheques at small offices stores called Casa de Cambio. Do not get change on the streets, you can find Casa de Cambio most squares, also Hotels and restaurants.
Clothing
Try to travel with two pair of pants that is enough. Bring a bathing suit because there are hot springs and swimming available, bring protective clothes for the cold nights. Loose clothing is much better for traveling, shoes for trekking, sandals, and sneakers will be enough.
Inka trail regulations
The governmental Institution in charge of regulating the entry on the Inca Trail has strictly limited the number of people permitted during 2007 ( 500 people per day between trekkers and agencies staff ).We recommend you to make your reservation as much in advance as possible to make sure you will find spaces on the desired departure date. Reservation should be made at least 3 months in advance to avoid complications.(You must decide if you want to hire the services of a personal porter in advance when making your trek reservation since we need to purchase the porter's trekking permit).
We have to be environmentalist
As the tourism industry generates a lot of garbage our agency is very carefulnot to leave plastic trash and waste in the path used for making our trips work, we recycle.
These recommendations should help improve your visit!
